I will be doing a very special, one of a kind workshop to the most beautiful city of earth in October of 2022. I will take a small group of 4 to some of the most iconic and gorgeous locations throughout this gorgeous city. My wife and I absolutely love Paris and to do a workshop here it needs to be an intimate and special workshop. We will be scouting and shooting in the best areas and 8 nights and 9 days is the bare minimum to capture the beauty of Paris.

After Paris, we can all board a plane for Prague and spend 5 days scouting out and shooting some of the most beautiful places all throughout Prague.  This is a city that seems like you are dreaming as the atmosphere is so surreal.  Between Paris and Prague, the photo ops are going to be one non stop adventure!

I was actually inspired to do this workshop on the final day of the 2021 Tour de France, as watching the cyclists finish the tour in Paris made me really think about if I could do a workshop to this magical city. I realized with a small group, I could do it.

Photographing Paris means out and about for at least 10 hours every day and a huge amount of the workshop will be dedicated to capturing the beauty of Paris after dark. The architecture that abounds is a dream for photographers from capturing the stunning Eiffel Tower from different vantage points and times of the day to the Champs Elyseés & the Arc de Triomphe to the stunning area of Montmartre, shooting Paris is a non stop dream for photography.  Taking a max of 4 people will make for a much better experience and be able to give better personalized instruction throughout the entire workshop!

Unlike no other city

The itinerary will be pretty busy while capturing my favorite spots for photography all over this stunning place. We will take taxis, Ubers, the Metro and also walk our butts off everywhere as there is so much to capture all over Paris. We will hit the Louvre and see the Mona Lisa and so many more amazing works of art inside and then photograph the iconic pyramids outside at dusk and also after dark.

We will travel to the top of Montparnesse, the highest point in Paris to shoot the stunning architecture below. Hit the Musee D’Orsee, shop on the Champs Elyesses, climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and also go for a spin on the famous 200 foot tall, Roue de Paris Ferris Wheel. We will also shoot inside the Grand Opera of Paris and shoot and shop inside the mind boggling Gallerie Lafayette, one of the most amazing indoor malls on earth. The photo ops if you know Paris, are everywhere and this is going to be one fun road trip!

         A very fun road trip

Paris is probably my favorite city on earth and to be able to do a workshop with just a few people is super exciting for me. The amount of shooting we will do in a little over a week will be like nothing you can imagine. Just the Eiffel Tower alone is mesmerizing every day and especially after dark and we will shoot there multiple times and might even take the elevator to the top!

One of the best parts of this magical city is the food. The baguettes.  The pastries. The unique and yummy french cuisine and of course, the drinks. And with romantic cafes on every corner, the eating experience is really like no other city on earth.

You will fly into Paris and and take a taxi or the Metro to the hotel. We will meet up at the hotel and I will already have been there for a few days scouting out locations and times for many of our photography adventures. Paris is one place that I love so much and have been wanting to share with others for years and so happy that I’m finally making it happen! Eight nights is barely enough to see the sights and smell the pastries and french food that we will indulge in every day and night.

 Extension to amazing Prague

At the end of the workshop,  you can join us and fly to Prague for a fun extension in another magical city that is beauty on another level.  So when you book your tickets, which I can help you with,  select  a multi-destination trip and not a round-trip so you can arrive in Paris and leaved for home from Prague if you want to join us in Prague!

You arrive in one city and leave from another and I do this all the time.  it’s usually not that much more expensive but gives you so much more flexibility!  Prague is one of the most stunning cities I have ever been to and a gem on the continent of Europe. I will show everyone my favorite locations all throughout Prague and we will capture even more exquisite images from another magical city.

The workshop will include this 5 day extension but you will also need to book the hotel in Prague on your own. I will help everyone with this too and once you travel around Prague you will feel like you are back in time in one of the most gorgeous cities on earth. Photographing both of theses stunning cities in Europe will be a very special experience and with only a few people, will make some lifetime memories!

I am limiting this workshop to a maximum of 4 people as I said above, so that the experience and logistics make for a better tour than with a large group. The workshop will cost more than some of my other workshops because of the group size and personal instruction night and day for 9 days. The price is $5,800 and does not include the hotel  but this was how I was able to plan and design this new workshop. We will also be eating at a ton of great bistros & cafes and it might be hard not to put on a few pounds.

I have never done a workshop to the beautiful city of Paris as I did not want to take the typical 7-8 people all over as the logistics is pretty crazy getting around Paris with a large group. I realized recently that it could be possible with a small intimate group. I will feel good about having just a few of us to travel with each day and also push your photography each day and night with more personalized instruction.

We will also stay in a great location, just steps from the Louvre that is central to many things and also close to the Metro. We will take the subway all over Paris and the underground Metro is one of the most mesmerizing things to photograph in Paris and we will have a blast shooting it many times.

We will also spend the day at the one of a kind Palace of Versailles which is like nothing anyone could ever dream of. In 1667, the 28-year-old King Louis XIV finally took over sole command of France and commissioned Versailles, Europe’s most beautiful palace. The opulence is off the planet and the road trip to Versailles will make for one more fun adventure!  One trip to Paris….and you are hooked!

La Defense
The futuristic business district in Paris is called La Defense and we will have a blast capturing it night and day

    Can you say….” J’adore Paris?

We will also be shooting a lot after dark, long after the sun goes down. If you know my work, you know how much I love shooting after dark as the nighttime brings a totally different feeling, especially in Europe. We will be looking all over, in every city, for fantastic after dark photo ops!

There are not many cities on earth that have as many photo ops after dark and we will be all over, every night, looking for great ideas and compositions. It might be a little nippy in early October but I chose this time for good weather and hopefully less tourists than in May, another great time to be in Paris. So we will dress warm and have a fun time traversing the city each night but also have time to enjoy the delicacies which abound on every corner.

Paris… We will see you soon!!!

WHAT TO EXPECT

This workshop includes a reasonable amount of walking or hiking and requires an average level of physical fitness. You can leave some camera gear in the hotel room as you might not need everything all the time but when we are in vehicles, you can bring it all with you.

CLIMATE

The climate at this time in Paris & Prague is usually very nice but it can get cool and also can rain during this time so be prepared for anything. Most of the time, it should be pretty mild and enjoyable although we will be hoping for clouds as much as possible.

CLOTHING

Warm clothing is good to wear most days but the weather can change anytime and nights can be cooler so it’s also good to have fleece to layer in case it gets chilly. I would wear hiking shoes or tennis shoes if you can as there will be a lot of walking all over.. A light rain jacket is a must also as the rain can pop up anywhere.

MONEY

The currency in France is the Euro but in Prague will be the Czech crown as they still have not embraced the Euro. The best place to exchange money is probably before you leave the US but you can also use ATM’s which are all over Paris so bring your ATM card. I would bring enough for emergencies, tips and if you would rather pay cash for meals and anything else. I usually like to use my credit card for most purchases but cash is important o have with you!

PASSPORT AND VISA REQUIREMENTS

All travelers will need a passport valid for at least 90 days following your departure date from France. However, they strongly recommend traveling with 6 months validity on your passport at all times.

ELECTRICITY

France uses 220-240 Volts as the power source. Plugs and sockets have ungrounded 2 pin connections (Type C). You will need a plug adapter in order to use U.S. appliances and I would bring a few of them so you can charge a few things at once.  View more information about electrical standards around the world.

HEALTH

France is a very clean country & much different than third world countries. However, it’s a good idea to be up-to-date on routine vaccines before traveling to Europe. These vaccines include measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot.

And of course, please make sure you are up to date with yoru Corona Virus vaccines! Paris also has good doctors and hospitals and also dentists as I have been to them in Paris.

As I mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to be in shape as we will be walking all over the place, day and night in every corner of Paris. Our hotel room might be up several flights of stairs and being in shape will help with this. That is why I also recommend carry on size luggage as it is so difficult to carry these up the stairs. They are not big on elevators in France and also much of Europe.
